What I don’t love is that before this week, people always said Indianapolis like it was a question. A rhetorical question. As in, “Why would I want to come to Indianapolis?” They weren’t really asking. They had already decided it wasn’t worth their time.

Which adds to our excitement as we show off our city this week. Last weekend felt like a giant “TADA!” (and maybe a little “nana nana boo boo,” too.) I didn’t want to feel left out, so on Monday I took to the streets to enjoy the city all tidied up for guests.

To everybody who has come and is coming this weekend, allow me to say that I’m so glad you’re here. Thanks for coming to visit. Feel free to stay awhile and come back soon.

Here to demonstrate just how much fun a playdate can be, I have my niece and nephew:

Let’s start with something fun- cause you know I love silly!!

(That face on the right, that’s his Tigger face, and it always makes me laugh!)

This one is quite the charmer. Keeping a serious face while she’s trying to make you laugh is impossible!

And she hates to be outdone in the silly department-

She likes to sit on him, and he is SUCH a good brother. He lets her. She says, “MY SIT AARON!”

She’s so silly.

So there you have it: one sweet boy, and his darling little sister.

This brief session was well inside the time frame of a normal Playdate, and I shot it on a whim during one of our warm weather days this January.

Oh, and before I forget! If you book a session- any kind of session- during the rest of the month of January, I’m sweetening the pot with a mini accordion. (And I wish I was talking about a tiny accordion! ) These babies are JUST so adorable, and they will make all the other moms jealous!

Those heart shaped brownies are from Smitten Kitchen. I’ve never liked white chocolate, but I have to admit, I loved the white chocolate brownies better than the regular! Below, the jar is filled with yellow and red watermelon granita from the pioneer woman. So easy and ridiculously tasty!

Bridal shower games are not my favorite, but croquet seemed like the perfect Saturday afternoon companion to a glass of lemonade. The ladies were also kind enough to allow me to play a round of “bridal shower portraits.”

Jump in it, roll around, and then throw it in the air and laugh.

Kids are not confused about what is most worthy. They reserve their best smiles for people (including my niece who REALLY loves the ipad).
